Fiesta Night

In my opinion, a camp is officially broken in when you make your first pitcher of Margaritas. The kids are testing out the 'Ritas' on our deck this week, then Megan sautes some peppers and onions for Fajitas. Delicious! This was our first week at camp with the whole family and we had a great time, even though the weather was less than ideal. I'm back in Cincinnati now and missing the lake already...

Exciting News !!!!!!!!

Yesterday I mowed my lawn and today I fixed the vanity in the bathroom. I know you may not find this tremendously inspiring and exhilarating, but considering no-one has entered anything since Father's Day, this must be about as adventurous and stimulating as this looney family gets presently.

Speaking of exciting, did you hear about the actress that got stabbed today? Reese something?

Elmendorfs at Camp

For anyone who doesn't know, we closed on our camp at Maidstone on May 22, spent Memorial Day weekend there, and even hosted an impromptu party our first night there (see photo). It was 5 months from offer to closing, and we had to jump thru a few dozen hoops before everything was approved (such an inconvenient time for banks to get careful with their money!) but now it's done and we're excited. For anyone who's interested in our summer schedule: Piet is going to be there from June 18 thru about July 26. He thinks he's going to spend his days fishing and drinking beer, but I plan to give him enough items on his 'to-do' list to keep him out of trouble. I'll be there with him June 20-28, and the whole Elmendorf clan will be there July 11-19. Katie will be in and out all summer, as her work schedule allows. We hope to see as many of you as possible this summer!
