OPA!!

Hey there! I had tried to post some very insightful thoughts a while ago, but I couldn't make it work and took that as a sign... Anyway, here is a pic of Skip and Me at Santorini's. I think we look kind of cute, in an old greying redhead kind of way.

It's Good To Be King, Again.

After four months of rehab, I returned to work on June 2nd. I have medically set limitations and the timing is perfect, as kids are out for the summer. My last post-op visit confirmed that I am ahead of schedule but I am reminded almost on a daily basis that this thing is not healed. I suspect that it will be close to the original 12 month prediction for full recovery. It was definately time to get back at it and the break has allowed me to put some things into perspective. The "new and improved" edition has a decidely different outlook about many things. As Megan said in her latest post, we will be bringing a variety pack of stuff to camp along with the common denominator of looking forward to seeing everyone. It's great to be back.

Honest to Blog, People!

Our blog seems shockingly quiet as of late. I figured with everyone sitting around anticipating our arrival there would be a mad flurry of activity! The conclusion I've come to, however, is that we think we're a much bigger deal than we are! : ) At any rate, we were all sitting around discussing our trip and simply cannot wait to see all your gorgeable faces! Piet will be bringing fishing rods, Katie will bring the gin, Erik will bring nothing (thank skybus), Lisa will bring whoopie pies, and I plan to bring plenty of sunscreen (and perhaps a pinata)....let's just say it's going to be a good week! Cannot wait....

Elmendorfs on Vacation

Just want to let you all know that the Elmendorfs will be in Vermont for the 4th of July this year (in case anyone's wondering). We'll arrive there sometime on Sunday, 6/29 and stay until Sunday, 7/6. Right now it looks like all of us will be there, but it's possible that Erik will get a new job between now and then that will make it hard for him to get away. Hope to see a bunch of you then!

Graduation was Saturday. All went well, and I'm home for the next couple weeks before heading off to camp. It's a busy couple weeks as I prepare for my thesis defence in another couple weeks. I meant to post this and share the news with you all sooner but it took me a bit to get things unpacked enought to be able to upload the pictures. I may have graduated but I am not done yet. I'm going back in the fall to take some Microbio classes, before taking on a practicum program for Med tech at Eastern Maine Med.
