- People go NUTS in grocery stores during any and all crises
- Society as a whole has an amazing capacity for patience, shown when EVERY traffic light turns into a four way stop
- Hanging out by candlelight is cool...for about an hour
-Once the sun goes down, sleep is really the only option
-Those people who go nuts in grocery stores aren't stupid they had ice and batteries for their flashlights, we had a variety of smelly candles
-Patience wears out after a couple days when all those people are taking cold showers and can't make coffee
-People are not smarter then the old days, we just don't have to study by candlelight
-You can cook ANYTHING on the grill
-Nobody but Bengals fans buy the idea that they would have won that game on a wind free day
-Do NOT avoid showers because you assume the water will be cold, sometimes you find that your water is gas heated (awesome!)
-Policemen get guns because they show amazing restraint to not shoot every idiot who thinks they are the only one having a bad week
-Anyone who thinks electricity is not a gift from God go a few days without a refrigerator, stove, tv, the internet or the ability to turn on a light on a whim.

People do take "the little things" for granted don't they? And it
totaly sucks learning that lesson.
The pics and the story reminds me of the ice storm in 97'.
To this day, I keep jugs of water on each step of the stairs going down cellar.
I am so glad that you guys faired well, considering.... And that no-one got hurt..
